From the Team:
"It's Not a Day for Work, It's a day for Catching Tan"
Give it up for Nick Smith! He’s a funny guy, and a great writer. He did a great job with the LowDown last week. He’s also really athletic and has quite the sock collection. I’m sorry, ladies. He is taken.
We have some exciting things on the horizon such as new releases, some merch and a new playlist or two. Next week, I will return with a little holiday gift guide for you to give a present to that special someone. Until then, au revoir!

Label of the Month:
Dansu Discs
Links: Instagram, Soundcloud, Website
Founder: Nick Dansu
Established: 2021
HQ: Manchester
The resurgence of Dansu Discs in 2024 cannot be ignored. With 20 releases this year (view/buy them here), it was almost impossible to not come across a Dansu Disc track. Not to mention they are all heaters. If you enjoy the minimal/deep tech sound (which we at the LowDown certainly do), then we highly recommend looking into this label. Even though some may say it is a “smaller” imprint as of now, it is on a rocket ship to the moon, bringing along up and coming artists with it.

Artist of the Week:
Jimi Latifi
Instagram: @jimi_latifi
A few weeks back you may have came across “Chase The Sun” EP on Hot Since 82’s Imprint Knee Deep In Sound. If you listened, then I am sure you agree that they are an outstanding couple of tunes! Like many, I am curious to discover the artist behind the track. His name is Jimi Latifi and he only has less than 10,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. But How?!
Jimi Latifi may be a new name, but he's no stranger to the music industry. After years of experience, he's decided to return to his roots and embrace his authentic self with a fresh identity and sound.
Originating from Ireland, Jimi is quickly making his mark on the underground music scene, with a debut label release on Josh Butler's Origins. His signature sound blends deep, polished elements with the unmistakable raw, underground house groove, capturing the attention of dancefloors both in Ireland and globally.
With over a decade of experience, Jimi's decision to reinvent himself and showcase his true colors comes at the perfect time. Looking ahead, he’s eager to share his sound with the world, pushing boundaries and reaching audiences far and wide. As you can see below, 2024 was a monumental year.
This is your warning to buy now on Jimi Latifi. If there were such things as DJ stocks, the LowDown would be making you rich!

Event of the Week:
20 Years of FIXED: Barbara Boeing, JDH & Dave P, Bêvèrãgęš djs @ Good Room
I know this may be pretty high up on the RA list, and I usually like to give you, my loving reader, something obscure. However, sometimes the best things are the obvious choice and that is exactly what we have here. On Saturday night, the Good Room is throwing DOWN. JDH & Dave P are frequent performers at Good Room, and for good reason. Hailing from New York and Philadelphia respectively, they are the duo behind the FIXED parties, which have been running for over fifteen years. They will be in the Good Room (one of the two spaces at the club for the unenlightened) and will be joined by Brazilian artist, Barbara Boeing, who is known for colorful sets that span everything from funk, soul, tropicalia, Balearic, house, breakbeat, synth pop, disco, Italo and more. If you aren’t drooling already, the Bêvèrãgęš gang will be holding it down in the Bad Room. Whenever they are playing, you should not hesitate in attending.
