The LowDown #134
One-hundred and thirty fourth installment of our weekly newsletter from the Team.
From the Team:
Go download the Blus EP! Some of the finest work we have featured on Low End Directive and what would it be if it didn’t get played out. Get it on your USB and blow somebody’s mind! If you send us a video of you playing a song from the EP in a set or even just riding a bike we will throw it on our story.
Alffie was great to work with and he really is a talented producer so check out some more of his other work while you are at it.

Artist of the Week:
Soul of Hex
Instagram: @soulofhex
Soul Of Hex is the project of Mexican brothers Gerardo and Emanuel Cedillo, two DJs, producers, and multi-instrumentalists from Tijuana who have become one of the most distinctive acts to emerge from Latin America’s underground house scene. After first making their name through the city’s influential “new rave” movement, the pair evolved into Soul Of Hex, a project that blends deep house, techno, jazz, disco, and live musicianship into a sound that feels both classic and forward-thinking.
Banger.
Over the years, they have released music on respected labels including Freerange Records, Delusions of Grandeur, DFTD, Quintessentials, and their own Vicario Musique Recordings, the label they run from Tijuana. Their debut release gained immediate attention when Larry Heard (Mr. Fingers) remixed their track Lip Reading, while later releases received support from artists such as DJ Harvey, Ryan Elliott, and Glenn Astro.
Soul Of Hex have developed an international reputation through appearances at events and venues including Dekmantel Festival, while also holding residencies in Mexico and helping shape their local scene through projects such as Tijuana Strong and Vicario. Their ability to move between deep house, disco, and leftfield club sounds has made them equally comfortable in intimate club settings and larger festival environments.
More than a decade into their journey, Soul Of Hex continue to represent a unique voice within underground electronic music. Combining deep musical knowledge, strong production skills, and a genuine connection to dancefloor culture, they have established themselves as one of Mexico’s most respected electronic exports.

Event of the Week:
Support Women Dj’s Open Decks @ Delirium
As you know, at LED we have the utmost respect for female DJs and producers. It is not always a straightforward path into the industry for women. Considering the dynamics of male-heavy crowds, DJs, and the general population of the industry, it is always good to make sure more women are getting into DJing to keep the scene bright and the music fresh. Support them, book them, and share their work. The culture is better for it.

Mix of the Week:
ERA 219 - Rebūke Studio Mix
Rebūke continues to impress with his ability to evolve and explore entirely new sounds. From releases on Dirtybird to We are the Brave to Hot Creations to Afterlife, his career has been defined by constant reinvention and a refusal to stand still. In 2026, he’s ventured further into a stripped-back, minimal tech house sound, showcasing yet another side of his artistry. His latest studio mix offers a glimpse into this new chapter and if you ask us, it’s sounding very promising.
