The LowDown #131
One-hundred and thirty first installment of our weekly newsletter from the Team.
From the Team:
First and foremost, we'd like to start off by saying thank you to our MVP George for all the time and effort he has given LED the past 3 years. There's no telling where we'd be without him. Probably running a residency at Mr. Purple or collabing with itsDjlevi. Who knows, man. Either way, we're here now in a great place, and it's sad to think Top G/Gregory Spektor/Jorge P won't be along with us. We thank you again for your service. To any and all readers, please leave a comment showing your support for G.
That brings us to our next point. Please comment and interact with us! We have a pretty clear vision of where we want to go, which we'll discuss momentarily, but we'd love to know what you readers and loyal LED EP listeners would love to see more of. So leave a comment here, an Instagram DM there. Banter brings bold ideas. First example: should we sunset George's signature song-quote intro, or do the people want to see it live on?
For LED now, there's going to be a heavy focus on releases. We have a great release lined up for the end of June and a few more in the tank after that. Our goal is to push out tons of content on all things digital. The physical aspects of LED, like merch and events, may slow down a bit. However, don't count us out to strike at an opportunity for a fun event. We will deliver. But for now, get excited for some new music from new countries we haven't released with before (yeah, there's a lot of them, but you get the point). Some of these summer lineups that have been coming out have just been ridiculous, so get out there and enjoy some good sets no matter where you are.
Also, pour one out for no hot since 82 at the ruins this year. Are you kidding me?

Artist of the Week:
Demuja
Instagram: @iamdemuja
Bernhard Weiss, known as Demuja, is the Austrian DJ that has consistently been crafting house tunes worthy of any playlist.
Growing up in Salzburg, he has created a sound sits at the intersection of house, disco, electro, and raw groove-driven club music. Long respected within underground electronic circles, Demuja has built a career of over 15 years defined by versatility and a deep sense of soul running through everything he produces.
Before stepping into electronic music, Demuja spent a decade playing drums and was heavily involved in breakdancing, experiences that continue to shape his rhythmic approach to production and DJing today. His journey began in 2007, initially balancing DJing with dance culture before moving into production in 2009. Influenced by artists such as Kerri Chandler, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Glenn Underground, and Bicep, he developed a sound that blends classic house foundations with disco textures, broken rhythms, and modern club energy.
Over the years, Demuja has released music on respected labels including Freerange Records, Shall Not Fade, Nervous Records, Madhouse, Toy Tonics, Let’s Play House, Traxx Underground, and Food Music, while also building a strong catalog through his own imprint, MUJA, launched in 2016. The label has become a key outlet for his evolving sound and a platform for many of his most recognizable releases.
Alongside his studio output, Demuja has become a global touring artist, performing across nearly 40 countries throughout Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa, and Australia. His schedule has included appearances at respected festivals and venues such as Dour Festival, Piknic Électronik, and Rex Club Paris, while earning support from platforms including BBC Radio 1, NTS, Rinse FM, Mixmag, DJ Mag, and Feel My Bicep.
Check out his latest EP on Peach Discs:
Despite his international reach, Demuja’s music remains rooted in the same philosophy that shaped his early years: creating soulful, groove-focused records without chasing trends. His productions balance nostalgia and innovation, drawing from the spirit of 90s dance music while continuing to push his sound forward. More than a decade into his career, he remains one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary house music. An artist equally committed to the dancefloor and to musical exploration.
