The LowDown #128
One-hundred and twenty eighth installment of our weekly newsletter from the Team.
From the Team:
The time has finally come…
This Friday night, we are kicking off our self-proclaimed residency at Apollo Studio in Greenpoint. If you know Apollo Studio, you know how massive this is. It is one of the best small venues in the city for music. It has that underground feel while also having a great sound system. But more importantly, the TALENT. Oh man, the talent is what makes this event special. Poggio is coming from the underground of Paris and m.O.N.R.O.E. is coming from the circuit of Miami; each bringing some contagious tracks. Check out these mixes for example.
To compliment Poggio & m.O.N.R.O.E., local cat Harry Fletcher will be setting the tone with opening duties. Honestly, come early because he is so damn talented that you will enjoy the space and music in an uncrowded fashion. Orrrr stay late to catch another local selector, Jared Maharaj. He has played Golden Record and 333 Zion parties for a reason; he is the real fucking deal and will be coming with heat like Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys.
Click the link above to grab a ticket. They are going fast, free before midnight is already sold out!

Artist of the Week:
Capron (NL)
Instagram: @capron.music
Meet Capron, the Amsterdam-based duo emerging as part of a new generation shaping modern house music.
Made up of Sil, a producer and keyboardist with a strong musical foundation, and Yazmani, a bassist and dedicated record digger, the pair combine complementary skills that define both their sound and workflow.
With 4 releases in 2026 on imprints like LTF, Moxy, and Dansu Discs, Capron is setting up for a massive year in their career.
Their music sits within minimal house, enriched with funky, tribal, and underground elements, creating a groove-led style built for the dancefloor. Drawing clear inspiration from 90s house, their tracks often incorporate soulful vocals and rhythmic swing, giving them a familiar yet fresh energy.
The project began during the Covid-19 period in 2020, but the duo took time to refine their identity before debuting in late 2023. Since then, they’ve released over 20 EPs and singles on labels such as Whoyostro, Too Many Rules, Nature, Nothing Else Matters, and Undergrowth, steadily building a super nice catalog.
Each member brings a defined role: Sil has developed a strong production identity, while Yazmani has honed his ear for digging and selection. This balance translates into both their studio output and DJ sets, where they combine musical structure with dancefloor instinct. This is the collaboration DJ duos around the world can only dream of.
Their tracks have already reached the top of Beatport’s Jackin House chart and gained support from artists including Marco Carola, Franky Rizardo, East End Dubs, Seth Troxler, De La Swing, and Joseph Capriati. Alongside their releases, they’ve begun establishing themselves behind the decks, with appearances at venues like Thuishaven and a growing presence across the European circuit.
Still early in their journey, Capron are building steadily while remaining grounded in house music’s roots.
