The LowDown #117
One-hundred and seventeenth installment of our weekly newsletter from the Team.
From the Team:
"My promise could be your fiend"
These truly are the dog days in NYC. Every year, I think the winter will be different. I say “I am kind of excited for the winter. It’s a relaxing time in the city, going from from bar to restaurant to bar….” Yeah fuck that. This winter has been so cold. Plus it’s constantly wet outside. We are on the road to April.
And with that, we may have some exciting news about an event in April. I can’t give you much more info, but we are getting close. In the meantime, buy our t-shirts. They are almost sold out.

Artist of the Week:
T Sounds
Instagram: @tsoundsofficial
Tom Helowicz, better known as T Sounds, is a producer hitting his stride and it cannot go unnoticed.
For real though, we are addicted to the sound of this. Liverpool-based DJ. T Sounds’ rise has been built on nothing but consistency and it seems impossible for him to produce anything other than an unmistakable groovy number.
Over the past few years, T Sounds has quietly become a familiar name across respected underground and crossover house labels. His releases have landed on imprints such as theBasement Discos, Miura, Mau Mau, Fantinzoo, Dafia, and Hustler Trax, each showcasing a producer unafraid to inject character and musicality into functional club records. His tracks are defined by catchy melodic hooks, driving rhythms, and a sense of optimism that sets them apart in a crowded landscape.
That approach hasn’t gone unnoticed. T Sounds’ productions have earned support from an impressive list of tastemakers and heavyweight selectors, including Michael Gray, Doorly, Richie Hawtin, Cinthie, Mannix, Flavour Trip, and Low Steppa, among many others. With DJs of this caliber championing his music, his tracks have found their way onto dancefloors well beyond the UK, resonating with audiences across Europe and beyond.
As a DJ, T Sounds has played parties and festivals across the UK while increasingly taking his sound abroad, building a reputation for sets that are lively and tuned into the moment. Whether in club rooms or festival settings, his selections reflect a deep understanding of how melody and momentum work together on the dancefloor.
The last few years marked a major turning point. A whirlwind period spanning 2023 and 2024 saw number one EPs, a return to Glastonbury Festival, and an Ibiza debut, cementing his position as an artist entering a new phase of his career. Despite a packed schedule and growing visibility, T Sounds has remained focused on progression rather than pressure. But don’t forget, he’s one of the boys, just like the rest of us.
Now heading into 2026, there are no signs of that momentum slowing. With further releases lined up on some of house music’s most respected labels and performances across the UK and Europe, T Sounds continues to build on a foundation defined by quality and longevity.
Oh and check out his label, Moom Sound! Especially, this Bandcamp only EP titled ‘Echos of Concrete’ that releasesed last June.
For those paying attention, T Sounds is no longer one to watch. He’s already here and is building something that looks set to last.

Event of the Week:
Eli Escobar, Vivian Wang, Planet B, SMURFOUDIRTY @ DLN9
There’s a little sneaky heater of an event on the calendar for this weekend. Saturday night, head over to Dead Letter No. 9 (aka DLN9) to catch some high end local talent. Everyone in NYC should recognize the name Eli Escobar (owner of Gabriela) so I don’t think he really needs any introduction. As for the support, Vivian Wang is a local selector that has played at all of your favorite clubs in the City. She will join Eli in the cargo room and will be serving up some good-ass-house-music that will keep you shaking. Planet B and SMURFOUNDIRTY are also some local heads that will be holding it down in the Foyer. Expect funk with a snarl when you say it.
If you haven’t been to DLN9, it’s in Williamsburg and a stones throw away from Manhattan. Nice little spot to get shake some A$$
